Brief academic CV

Antonios Kanaras received his diploma in Chemistry from the University of Crete, Greece. After a Master’s degree in Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece, he received a Ph.D. in Nanoscience from the University of Liverpool working on colloidal nanoparticles and their bio-applications. He was a postdoctoral scientist with Prof. Paul Alivisatos at the University of California, Berkeley working on the synthesis and energy applications of semiconductor nanoparticles. Currently Antonios is Professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Southampton, UK

Antonios has publications in several high impact factor international multidisciplinary Journals. He has given invited and keynote talks in prestigious European and International conferences. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. His research is funded from a diverse range of funding bodies including BBSRC, EPSRC, Royal Society, Leverhulme Trust and Industry.
